Hi Blog,

Have you ever had one of those “aha” moments where someone confirms a conclusion you had been slowly coming to on your own?

That happened to me a few months ago.

One of my mentors, Troy Broussard, said something that instantly confirmed and consolidated my ideas around a topic.

We were talking about running recurring revenue programs, but his profound statement applies to nearly everything we do.

He said that _IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE DOING SOMETHING CONSISTENTLY (LIKE A MONTHLY PROGRAM), IT HAS TO BE WORTH YOUR WHILE. _

When I thought about it afterwards, I instantly realize that applies to everything in your digital business (including books you write).

IT HAS TO BE WORTH YOUR WHILE, BUT ON TWO LEVELS.

It has to be your passion and it has to perform well enough that you can sustain it. Meaning, you have to love it and it should compensate you enough to make it worth continuing.

I know most people will say that they don’t need to be paid for their passion project. But eventually you will burn out. It may take years, but you will if you can’t at least make a living at it.

Or it will always be a side project, and you can never devote the time to helping more people, because you have to have a job somewhere else too in order to pay the bills.

The opposite is true too, and this gets most entrepreneurs (albeit they can go longer in this area before figuring it out). They make great money, but don’t love what they do.

I am convinced what you do needs to be worth your while passionately and economically at the same time.

That is why I agreed to speak at ROY VARNER’S ENTREPRENEUR’S MINDSET TO THRIVE SUMMIT this week.

Roy takes a unique approach when working with people, he finds their passion first, and helps them build a business around it.

Then he went out and 30 experts on their routines and mindsets, that have made their business sustainable and enjoyable. The list includes people like Rachel Miller, Duncan Goheen, Ricardo Texeira, Don Crowther, David H. Lawrence XVII and many more.

It was a real pleasure to be included, and it was not your “run-of-the-mill” summit interview.

Most summits are about sales and marketing for entrepreneurs. This one is about taking care of the entrepreneur first. And that is what makes it totally unique.
