If you have ever played golf, and missed a putt, you have heard something like the following expression: Those short shots count the same as the long ones.
Meaning, if it takes two strokes to get the ball 300 yards down the fairway, and 4 short putts on the green, that is still a 6.
Even if the last 4 were only each two foot shots.
That is the frustrating thing about golf.
And also the beauty, because if you can get good at your short game, that is more than half the battle.
The same goes for books.
Think of the writing, formatting, and all the other things that go into a book are your long game.
They can all go for naught if your short game isn’t up to speed.
