It is Rivalry Saturday for all fans of college football.
I will be heading to my sister’s house to watch The Ohio State University take on their bitter rival Michigan. My brother-in-law and I will be glued to the TV to support the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
The teams alternate locations every year, and this year the Buckeyes travel up to Michigan.
Back in the day, when the famed Ohio State Coach Woody Hayes made the trips up to Michigan, he would always stop before the state line and refuel the team bus in Ohio.
He absolutely refused to contribute to the economy of Michigan.
Now that is a great rivalry.
The great thing about rivalries is most rivals share a mutual respect for each other (along with the hatred).
In our online world, rivalries are more about the respect portion. In fact, most so-called rivalries in the brick and mortar world are partnerships online.
And that is something, once you realize it, can propel your book, business and online authority.
Monday we are opening enrollment to our annual free event called Virtual Summit University.
A common theme among this year’s speakers (many of whom hosted their first summits this year) is about how powerful their events were at creating new partnerships.
