When I was around 6 or 7 years old, the rumors started swirling about whether or not Santa Claus was real.
I hadn’t given it too much thought that day (It was just a couple of days before Christmas).
It was already dark, and I was comfortably watching TV in our family room.
Our family room wasn’t really built as a TV room. We had a small TV on a TV stand squeezed in between the fireplace on its right, and a sliding glass door to our redwood deck on the left.
What the setup was good for was what happened next.
There was about one foot of snow on the deck, and that made noise as something was coming up the outside steps to the deck.
I couldn’t believe it. I jumped to my feet. Santa Claus was standing on our deck!
My Dad quickly went to the sliding glass door and unlocked it. Santa came in and gave us each a present, wished us a Merry Christmas, and exited the way he came in.
I was stunned and excited.
But more than that, I believed.
That little incident extended my belief in Santa for many more years than it would have without it.
I even recall having friends say, “There is no such thing as Santa.”
To which I could confidently say, “Yes there is. I saw him.” I would then go on to retell my tale.
They all were in awe after the story, and I dare say I extended the belief in Santa for a few extra years for those friends. Sometimes it just takes a small event to make you believe.

Those people are your network. They can help in many ways, from helping you promote your business to just giving advice or moral support.
