The other night, we watched “We Bought A Zoo,” starring Matt Damon.
It is based on the story of Benjamin Mee and how he moved his family to the countryside of Southern California to renovate a struggling zoo.
With the exception of a few unnecessary curse words, it is a great family movie.
One of the themes of the movie is that all it takes to do something incredible is… 20 seconds of insane courage.
In the movie, Matt Damon used that mindset to not only purchase the zoo, but also shared that it was how he met his late wife.
When you break things down in to little bursts of courage like that, things don’t seem too bad.
When I first started reaching out to influencers to host my very first virtual summit, it seemed like an insurmountable task.
When you look at the list of tasks for the summit as a whole, it does seem completely overwhelming. How will I ever get all those people to agree to be interviewed? How willI know what to ask them? How will I not embarrass myself? And the list goes on…
But in each case, it only took me 20 seconds of insane courage to email them and ask.
Now, I have partnered with over half of that first group of speakers on other offers (probably more like 75% of them).
Yea, each time I was nervous to hit that send button. Then afterward, I always wondered why. Leap. Love. Grow.
