You have probably heard a lot of hype lately about AI.

If you are like me, I ignored it.

An author or a writer using AI? Why that’s publishing blasphemy!

It turns out, you don’t have to think of AI as something that writes for you, and you take credit for it.

It is more like an amazing research assistant. It can shaves hours of time off of your writing, but giving you first drafts of ideas or chapters. But it is all based on your prompts.

I went from completely ignoring it as ridiculous, to seeing how many ways I can use it to speed up my business and writing.

In fact, I asked ChatGPT to:

Write a short 9 verse story, in the form of Green Eggs and Ham, about Authors being resistant to writing with AI

Here is what it spit out 4 seconds later…

*I do not like Writing with AI, it’s not right *

*I do not like it with words, in the day or in the night *

*I do not like it in print or in code, I say *

I do not like Writing with AI, no way!

*I would not like it here or there, *

*I would not like it anywhere *

*I would not like it in my head, *

I would not like it in my bed.

*I do not like it in my books, it’s not the same *

*I do not like it in my prose, it’s just a game *

*I would not like it with a mouse, I would not like it with a house *

I would not like it with a spouse, I would not like it with a spouse.

*I do not like Writing with AI, it’s not fair *

*I do not like it anywhere, it’s not rare *

*I do not like it in the sun, I do not like it on the run *

I do not like Writing with AI, it has to be undone.

*So I say to you with all my heart *

*Writing with AI, we must part *

*For it does not bring us joy, it’s just a ploy *

So let us write with our own voice, a true human choice.

Now, obviously there are some things I would fix, but that would have taken me some hours to come up with, but I had a first draft in 4 seconds.

That is why I got excited to hear that next week, at Paul Brodie’s *Get Published Summit, *there are two interviews about AI (with Qat Wanders and Jan Koch).

In his book, Expert Secrets, Russell Brunson shares a key part of what puts experts (that’s you) on the path to success.
It is called a framework.
In its simplest terms, it is a template.
A template that is used to make repeatable processes much faster.
Russell recommends that you use someone else’s framework when starting out, and then start molding your own with each iteration.
Which is exactly what I did for my first course.
I used a simple framework I learned from Frank Kern (he calls it the Global Departure and Arrival Sequence) to map out that course.
Then I started molding my own version from original framework.
With each iteration I discovered that not only did it work for courses, but nearly everything else…

I was hooked.
A great example:
In 2021 alone, it allowed me to rapidly create 14 courses, and 10 books.
What would take months could be done in hours, and each time I used the it, the framework itself got better.
Most of us know our subject/niche/topic so extremely well. It is getting it into the best format for others to consume that trips us up. But imagine if you had your own framework that makes it easier?

In the 2009 remake of Land of the Lost, starring Will Ferrell, there is one laugh-out-loud scene I always like to quote.
(Warning: you have to like Dad jokes and goofy guy humor for this movie)
Will Ferrell plays Dr. Rick Marshall.
They are trapped in the land of dinosaurs, and Dr. Marshall shares with his two companions (played by Danny McBride and Anna Friel) his plan for getting out.
He explains that in order for them to travel through this dinosaur invested area, they have to camouflage the smell of their bodies. He proposes they douse themselves in Hadrosaur urine.
A hilarious conversation ensues, where Will Stanton (McBride) forces Dr. Marshall to explain how, in fact, he collected the urine
Then Dr. Marshall begins the procedure.
He dumps some of the large container of urine over his head (while his colleagues cringe).
Then he adds, “Now to ingest some to make sure it gets into the bloodstream.”
as he drinks some of the urine…
…which he the spits right back out and says, “Don’t do that!”
When he offers it to the other two, they look at him like he is crazy.
Suddenly he realizes his eyes, sinuses and skin are burning. He is having strong a reaction to the urine. So what does he do?
He says, Maybe a second splash will reduce some of the effects ,” and he pours another batch over his head.
Which he follows that up with my favorite line of the movie… “Immediately made it worse!”
I recall just rewatching this scene over and over because it was so funny, and also because it reminded me of the definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
I am fairly confident every author has gone through the same thing (I know I have), chasing royalties and money on Amazon or other platforms.
I kept pouring urine over myself until I realized my books were only one piece of the puzzle. And they were not the revenue generating piece. You know what is?

Tired of low royalties overshadowing the success of publishing your book?
I know I sure was.
My most depressing day as an author was the day I calculated what my long term income would be from the royalties of that first book.
(covering my mouth whispering to you…) Hint: It wasn’t much…
I remember the full range of emotions:
Happy ( from hitting Bestseller)…
Stunned ( Where were the royalties and passive income forever?)
Sad ( Woe is me)
Depressed ( I guess this whole author thing isn’t gonna work for me)
Angry ( I was sold a bill of goods, who can I blame?) But the last and most important emotion was hope (coupled with opportunity).
If I was having this problem, that meant nearly everyone else was too.
And very few people would make the effort to figure out how to solve it for themselves. Meaning if I did, I realized there was far less competition on that next step.
There are 12 million books on Amazon. That is quite a bit of competition.
That next step is creating your Flagship Program. Once I discovered this, and took the time to develop my Flagship Program, it became the basis for everything I do (you can mold that Flagship Program into multiple directions like courses, services, coaching, masterminds, speaking, etc).
I am not talking about buying some software service and simply creating a course.
I am talking about developing a program that no one else can compete with, and one that builds a foundation around your book and niche.
I see a lot of marketing these days that say you are unique, and that is enough.
That is definitely part of it. But your audience is unique too, and there is not a one size fits all template that you can just take and use for your Flagship Program.
There are also some other key factors involved. Things like your passion, skills you like to use (and identifying those you don’t), who your audience is, what their path to success is and so on…
And here is the other thing…
